Members spend the day in a supervised setting with meals, wellness activities, and free door to door transportation included. The program is bilingual in English and Spanish, and open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
An adult day center is a place where seniors spend daytime hours in a staffed, structured setting and return home in the evening. Tamarac Senior Center serves adults 60 and older across Broward County, with meals, health-focused activities, and transportation built into each day. The program gives working families a reliable place for a parent during the day, and gives seniors a routine that keeps them active and connected. Many members qualify for the program through a Medicaid Long Term Care plan.
These are the practical reasons families and seniors choose the center, based on what the program includes.
We pick members up at home in the morning and bring them back in the afternoon, at no added cost. Families do not need to arrange rides.
The program runs in English and Spanish. About 70 percent of members speak Spanish, so seniors can take part comfortably in either language.
We accept Long Term Care coverage, and many members qualify through Medicaid Long Term Care plans. We can help you check whether a plan covers the program.
Staff are present throughout the day, and breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served on site. Seniors are looked after in a structured, social environment.
