Assistance and support is the part of our program that covers the practical help a member may need during the day. Staff are present the whole time the center is open, from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Saturday. They keep an eye on how each member is doing, step in with day-to-day tasks when needed, and help sort out the paperwork that comes with Long Term Care coverage. Most of our members speak Spanish, so staff work in both English and Spanish. This page explains what that support includes and who it is designed for.
This support is for adults 60 and older who benefit from having staff nearby during the day. That includes a parent who should not be alone for long stretches while family members are at work, someone who needs a hand with everyday tasks, and members who are more at ease when instructions and conversations happen in Spanish. It is also for the adult children arranging care, who want a clear picture of how a parent is looked after between 8 AM and 4 PM. Members come to the center during the day and return home in the evening, with door to door transportation included.
Steady daytime supervision does two things at once. It gives the member a safe, structured place to spend the day with meals, activities, and people around. It also gives family caregivers a reliable break during working hours, which is often called respite. Knowing a parent is in a supervised setting from morning to late afternoon lets working families keep their jobs and their routines without leaving care to chance. When paperwork, coordination, and language are handled by staff as well, families spend less time managing logistics and more time simply staying in touch with the people they care for.
