Physical activity is a core part of the daily program at Tamarac Senior Center, a licensed adult day center in Broward County. Members take part in gentle group exercise and wellness sessions led by staff, with seated and standing options so everyone can join at their own level. The goal is steady, comfortable movement that supports mobility, balance, and mood over time. This page explains what the wellness program includes, who it is for, and why daily movement matters for older adults.
The wellness program is open to every member 60 and older who attends the center, regardless of fitness level. It is meant for people who want to stay active during the day, as well as those who have become less mobile and could benefit from gentle, regular movement in a supervised setting. Because seated options are always available, members who cannot stand for long, who use mobility aids, or who are recovering from an illness can still participate. Staff are present throughout to guide each session and keep it safe. No exercise experience is needed, and members are never pushed beyond what is comfortable for them.
